European Commission consultation on the Smart Readiness Indicator

Aug. 21, 2019

News from the EU

Under Article 8(10) and 8(11) of the EPBD (Directive 2010/31/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 May 2010 on the energy performance of buildings), the Commission is required to establish an optional common Union scheme for rating the smart readiness of buildings (the “smart readiness indicator” or SRI) and to detail the technical modalities for the effective implementation of the scheme.

The Commission services have been working the last months on the development of the SRI with the support of technical studies (https://smartreadinessindicator.eu/) and wish now to lead a targeted consultation on some of the structuring factors of the SRI scheme, in order to inform and orient the policy making process.

This consultation on the SRI has been launched and will be open until 3 October 2019.
